Narendra Modi on Chhath Puja: After Diwali, the festival of Chhath Puja is being celebrated with pomp. Prime Minister Narendra Modi On Tuesday (05 November), he congratulated the countrymen on the beginning of Chhath Mahaparva and wished for its successful completion.
He said in a post on ‘X’, “My best wishes to all the countrymen on the holy occasion of Nahay-Khay today in the Mahaparva Chhath. Specially my congratulations to all the fasting people. With the blessings of Chhathi Maiya, it is my wish that all your rituals be completed successfully.”
Chhath Puja begins with Nahay-Khay. On this day, Chhath devotees take bath in a holy river or pond and eat gram and gourd vegetable along with rice as Prasad. Kharna Puja is performed the next day and then the next day the sun sets and Arghya is offered to the rising sun the next morning.
Announcement of holiday in Bihar, UP and Delhi
The festival of Chhath is celebrated not only in Bihar but in almost all the states of the country, especially in Purvanchal of Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Delhi. Bihar government has announced four days holiday on Chhath, while Delhi and Uttar Pradesh governments have also announced one day holiday each.
Railways started special train
People from other states including Delhi are going to their homes for Chhath Puja. However, when people leave for their homes on a large scale, its effect is often seen in trains and means of transport, where there is heavy crowding. People have to face many problems, understanding which special trains have been run by the Railways.
